Q:    My dad said that Charlie Daniels received some special award his week. Do you know anything about it?

 

A:    Charlie Daniels, along with Vince Gill and Randy Owen, were honored  at the Leadership Music Dale Franklin Award ceremony last Wednesday night in Nashville. All three were honored for their charitable works over the years.

TODAY IN 1979:  Charlie Daniels had his 7th charted song.  "Mississippi" came on the country music charts October 6th, 1979 and peaked at number 19.   The Epic Records single was on the charts for 11 weeks.
