Q:    I remember a singer named James O'Gwynn on the Louisiana Hayride back in the 60's. Whatever happened to him?

 

A:     James O'Gwynn (known as "The Smiling Irishman") placed 6 songs on the country charts between 1958 and 1962.  He died in January 2010.

TODAY IN 1958:  James O'Gwynn had his first charted song. "Talk To Me Oh Lonesome Heart" came on the country charts October 20th, 1958 and peaked at number 16.
