QUESTION:  Do you know anything about a cruise with the Elvis Presley Band?

My mom said it was on the radio.

ANSWER:     The Imperials and The Stamps, who performed with Elvis, are part of The Elvis Presley Holy Land Tour, being offered by Elvis Presley Enterprises. The tour will visit Jerusalem, the Dead  Sea, the Western Wall, Sea Of Galilee and the famous Elvis Inn Restaurant in Abu Ghosh. The tour is scheduled for May 12th thru the 21st.

This day in 1950 - - Hank Snow recorded his first #1 single, the self-penned "I'm Movin' On" for RCA Victor. This was the Singing Ranger's 2 nd chart hit, and the recording is now in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Hank became a member of the Grand Ole Opry that year, with the help of Ernest Tubb.  Hank Snow placed 85 songs on the country music charts between 1949 and 1980. He died in 1999 at the age of 85.

"Q & A" is a by-product of our weekly "Country Music Classics" newsletter. NO - it does NOT replace the weekly newsletter--it is simply an addition--due to the large number of questions received each week that I do not have room for in the weekly newsletter. Subscribers receive BOTH the weekly newsletter and the daily Q & A---because I do not maintain two separate mailing lists.  If you wish to unsubscribe- send a blank email to:

IF YOU DO UNSUBSCRIBE....YOU WILL BE UNSUBSCRIBING FROM BOTH THE WEEKLY "COUNTRY MUSIC CLASSICS" AND THE DAILY "Q & A."
