QUESTION: The Bill Anderson and David Allen Coe recording of "Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands" is one of my favorites. My dad says that song was on the radio by Anderson years before the duet recording. Is that true?
ANSWER: Bill Anderson's original solo recording of "Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands" peaked at # 14 in 1962. He re-recorded the song with David Allen Coe in 1980 and their duet version topped out at # 46.

This day in 1990 - Vern Gosdin's Columbia album "Chiseled In Stone" was certified gold by the RIAA. Columbia released 5 of the songs on this album as singles, including "Set 'Em Up Joe" and the title cut.
