Country Aircheck Today (6-21)
Impact Radio's WTNN/Burlington, VT-NY OM/PD/PM driver Lobo will join KMPS/Seattle for afternoons July 12. He started in radio at WGMT/Montpelier, VT and WXXX/Burlington, VT-NY before spending three years at KKWF/Seattle. "His previous experience in the market and passion for country music and Country radio complements our already stellar lineup," PD Becky Brenner says. The Arbitron Portable People Meter has taken one step closer to cell phone integration by introducing its "PPM 360" wireless meter technology. Similar in look and feel to a cell phone, it does not require the docking station/hub that the current meter uses for nightly recharging and data transmission. Instead, it sends listening info wirelessly and recharges via a USB cord. The ratings firm communicates with users via a text screen on the meter. The advancement should make it easier for Arbitron to track its more mobile PPM participants.
Sunday's (6/20) tornado in Billings, MT, thankfully, produced no major injuries, but the damage will seriously impact the economy while likely disrupting some tour plans. The storm parked over the city's 10,000-seat Rimrock Auto Arena for a reported 15 minutes, shredding the roof. Upcoming shows by Jason Aldean (8/13), Brad Paisley (9/26) and Carrie Underwood (12/10) could be affected. "The Paisley and Aldean shows could be moved outside," says KCTR/Billings PD Ray Massie. "But we don't have a great venue for that, either. December? No way the building is ready by then, in my opinion." Watch a report

Former WIL/St. Louis morning co-hosts Debbie Conner and David Craig have joined crosstown Entertainment Media Trust's KQQZ-AM. Conner can be heard from 6-9am, followed by Craig from 9am-noon. The duo spent 11 years together at WIL, before their departure in '99.

Show Dog-Universal's Trace Adkins and Curb's Tim McGraw will participate in tonight's (6/21) two-hour Larry King Live telethon Disaster In The Gulf: How You Can Help at 8pm ET on CNN. The special will benefit the United Way, The National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy for those affected by the Gulf oil spill. Adkins and McGraw are among 30 celebrity guests including Justin Bieber, Deepak Chopra, Cameron Diaz, Philippe Cousteau, Jr. and others. Details 
In an effort to promote Gulf Coast tourism, Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band will host a free July 1 Gulf Shores, AL concert with Zac Brown, Kenny Chesney, Sonny Landreth, Jesse Winchester, Allen Toussaint and other performers TBA. CMT Presents Jimmy Buffett & Friends Live From The Gulf Coast will broadcast live on the network at 8pm ET and simulcast on CMT.com and Sirius XM's Radio Margaritaville. CMT Pres. Brian Philips says, "It is CMT's privilege to present this special. We sent a message to the people of the Gulf Coast that our audience — and the world — stands beside them."
