Karoline Leavitt SHUTS DOWN fake news reporter for "insulting" question - She didn't hold back...“President Trump has the moral high ground over the Iranian terrorist regime, and for you to suggest otherwise is frankly insulting!!”
White House Press Sec. Karoline Leavitt fired back at a fake news reporter Wednesday for challenging President Donald Trump’s “moral high ground” in the war against Iran, siting his promise to erase “a civilization” if a peace deal was not reached earlier this week. “President Trump has the moral high ground over the Iranian terrorist regime, and for you to suggest otherwise is frankly insulting!!” Leavitt scolded the reporter for his dishonest representation of Trump’s words. Watch the tense moment here:The reporter, Andrew Feinberg of The Independent, pressed Leavitt about Trump’s Truth Social post appearing to threaten to wipe out Iran’s “civilization,” yet he was clearly ignoring the obvious intended meaning of Trump’s message and specifically how Trump ended the post, clearly writing: “God bless the great people of Iran!” “When the U.S. invaded Iraq, George W. Bush said in a message to the Iraqi people that the military campaign was directed against ‘the lawless men who rule your country, and not against you.’” Feinberg began his question. “Yesterday, the President threatened to destroy Iran’s entire civilization, not the Iranian government, but the Iranian people,… How can the President claim that American can ever have the moral high ground if he is threatening to destroy civilizations?” Leavitt quickly and sternly shot back at the premise that President Trump and/or the United States somehow does not have “the moral high ground” in this conflict. “Andrew I think you should take a look a the actions of this president over the past 6 weeks and the actions of our brave men and women in the U.S. military,” Leavitt started. “They have taken out the military of a rogue Islamic regime that has chanted ‘death to America’ for 47 years, that has killed and maimed thousands of American soldiers,… The President absolutely has the moral high ground over the Iranian terrorist regime, and for you to suggest otherwise is frankly insulting!” she continued. This whole exchange was a textbook example of one of the media’s favorite fake news tactics against President Trump. They will take one word or phrase the president as said, knowing his manner of speaking is often imprecise and hyperbolic, and apply whatever meaning they want to his words, usually the worst possible meaning imaginable. Thats literally it… Trump has NEVER indicated that he does not support the Iranian people and their right to take back their country from the Islamic theocrats who have abused them for decades. Since day one of the strikes he has affirmed this support, and made perfectly clear that this is a war against Iran’s rogue leaders, not its people. And this reporter knows this, if he simply read Trump’s entire Truth social post, linked above, he would see that Trump again echoed support and empathy with the “great people of Iran!” This is lazy, bad-faith journalism and I don’t blame Karoline for getting pissed off and humiliating him on front of the press room for his half-baked question.
