Welcome to Old Forge, NY!

Dear Big Country,

New Events in Old Forge you might want to check out!

Located in the center of the Adirondack Mountains in New York State, Old Forge, New York has been the destination for generations of visitors seeking everything from serenity to adventure.

The change of seasons is in full swing, and although the blazing red colors are winding down to brilliant yellows and golds, the Fall activities in Old Forge are cranking up.

What's coming up in Old Forge?

1. Saturday, October 23rd, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad "Pumpkin Train Excursion" departs Thendara Station at 10am, 12 noon and 3pm enroute to Wally's Pumpkin Patch at Carter Station. Once there, kids in costume can select their own pumpkin to keep, and maybe find the Great Pumpkin. That lucky child then serves as honorary engineer, riding in the locomotive and blowing the train whistle on the trip back to Thendara. Families will enjoy activities all day at the Thendara Station.
2. Saturday evening from 5-7pm, families are invited to the Pumpkin Festival at the Old Forge Fire Department for pumpkin carving, a haunted walk tour, and storytelling with treats for the children.
3. Sunday, October 24th, the Pumpkin Train Excursions again depart Thendara Station at 10am, noon and 3pm.
4. Saturday, November 6th, the Polar Bear Ski Club hosts its annual ski extravaganza at McCauley Mountain in Old Forge. Featured are consignment sales, new equipment vendors, season pass sales, and fun-filled ski related activities. Next on the upcoming agenda for Adirondack fun in Old Forge is: the Holiday Bazaar at the Arts Center November 14th, and as the traditional kick off for the holiday season. An Adirondack Christmas on Main Street November 26th-28th. More details soon.
