THIBODAUX, La. — Dozens of college quarterbacks came to South Louisiana for the 30th annual Manning Passing Academy. Operated by former Ole Miss and New Orleans Saints star quarterback Archie Manning and his three famous sons, the camp has become a midsummer destination for top passers throughout the country.
The 45 quarterbacks serving as counselors this year included some of the biggest names in college football. Arch Manning, Julian Sayin, John Mateer, Marcel Reed, and Trinidad Chambliss were among those working through a series of precision throwing events Friday night, from 18-yard comebacks to moving targets on golf carts.
The competition capped with a timed, rapid-fire challenge that put every arm in the room to the test. A handful of passers separated themselves from the field, including one unlikely standout from an FCS powerhouse who stole the show.
Wilson Alexander was on the ground in Thibodaux with a full breakdown of who stood out and what it means heading into the fall.
