QUESTION:    Do you have any information concerning Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire recording something called "The Choice?" It was mentioned on the TV Entertainment News."

ANSWER       Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Wynonna and Kenny Rogers are among the stars lending their voices to a new charity single titled "The Choice." It was written and spearheaded by Grammy nominee Billy Gilman to benefit the Soles 4 Souls organization with a goal of sponsoring the purchase for 500,000 shoes for people in need. The video for the song will premiere on CMT and in Regal Entertainment Group theaters on April 16th.

Today in 1953:    Jim Reeves had his first chart single. "Mexican Joe" made the country music charts March 28th, 1953 and made it to number one, where it stuck for 9 weeks. It was on the charts for 26 weeks.

"Q & A" is a by-product of our weekly "Country Music Classics" newsletter. NO - it does NOT replace the weekly newsletter--it is simply an addition--due to the large number of questions received each week that I do not have room for in the weekly newsletter. Subscribers receive BOTH the weekly newsletter and the daily Q & A---because I do not maintain two separate mailing lists.  If you wish to unsubscribe- send a blank email to:

IF YOU DO UNSUBSCRIBE....YOU WILL BE UNSUBSCRIBING FROM BOTH THE WEEKLY "COUNTRY MUSIC CLASSICS" AND THE DAILY "Q & A."
