Well... maybe not settle it. But hopefully make it a little less confusing. ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏
Hi Bestie,
If there's one quilting debate that's been around forever, it's this one.
Should you press your seams open...
...or to one side?
Ask five quilters and you'll probably get six different answers.
The funny thing is, everyone usually has a good reason for doing it their way.
So if you've ever wondered whether you've been doing it "wrong," here's some good news:
You're probably not.

It Really Depends on the Quilt
Most experienced quilters don't use one method for every project.
Instead, they look at the block they're making and ask,
"What's going to make this quilt come together the easiest?"
Sometimes that's pressing open.
Sometimes it's pressing to one side.
Both methods have their place.
|
|
Here's the Truth...
Most of us end up using both.
You might press to one side for nine blocks...
...then switch to pressing open for that one block where everything meets in the center.
And that's perfectly okay.
Quilting isn't about following rules.
It's about finding techniques that make your quilting more enjoyable, and give you the results you're after.
Happy Quilting!
From Corey.
