Dear International Living Postcards Reader,
"Each morning, I wake up and take a look at US news, and it confirms why I'm so much more at peace living [here], away from the politics, inflation, and outrageous housing prices...," says Donna S..
She traded an expensive, frenetic, stressful life in Florida for one that's much more satisfying—in one of the safest places on Earth.
A community where life feels simpler, saner, easier...
In many ways, it's an old-school existence... not in terms of tech or connectivity or convenience, mind you—she can watch American TV, has high-speed internet, there's a light rail in town.
It's a modern existence—it's just that life feels gentler... kinder...
People stop on the street to chat... neighbors look out for each other... doctors give you their cell phone numbers and make house calls... the local shopkeepers know who you are and what you like to buy...
Most Americans will travel, live, work, and retire in the US (if they can afford to retire at all).
But there's a small group of well-informed folks—who share, I'd say, a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world—who haven't limited themselves to their US options alone.
They've looked beyond our borders to find real opportunity... and that's made all the difference in the quality of their lives...
They've travelled to places many folks couldn't point to on a map (though they're easy, comfortable, beautiful places)... and made friends they'd never have met back home...
They've improved their lives, some taking a winter away from the cold in a place like Panama... or maybe a summer month or two spent going to farmers markets and concerts in Italy or France...
Some have opted to retire full-time in a community they like where the weather suits, the locals are welcoming, the pace is civil, and the prices will make you think you've gone back in time...
I'd like to open the world to you in just the same way—to put you in the good company of this savvy group—starting today.
Jennifer Stevens here, IL's Executive Editor, and I've got a very special offer for you—on the table through Sunday only.
We are living in uncertain times, and that's why I'd like to show you: In plenty of hidden places beyond our borders, you'll find communities where the values more closely reflect your own.
You don't have to go full-time overseas to recharge, reset... and invest wisely. Escape for a few weeks or months a year... that could be just the medicine you need.
I'm talking about good weather and welcoming friends in a place—out of the fray—where you can afford to really relax.
Most people have no idea how possible it really is to live and travel in a place that looks and feels like paradise.
I'd like to show you under-the-radar communities overseas where life is simpler, saner, easier... and costs less—right here.
Warmly,
