Q:    Do you know who had hit records on the old song "Sam Hill" and who wrote it? It's my dads' favorite.

A:    "Sam Hill" was written by Tommy Collins and was a number 11 hit for Claude King and a number 45 hit for Merle Haggard - both in 1964.
