QUESTION:   The guys on the radio said that Dolly Parton had received a Gold Record. What song was it for?

 

 

 

ANSWER:      Dolly Parton's "An Evening with Dolly Live" has been certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies worldwide. The CD was only available at Cracker Barrel Restaurants and their website.

THIS WEEK IN 1970:  Dolly Parton had her 18th charted song.  "Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man," (a duet with Porter Wagoner) made the charts August 1st, 1970 and peaked at #7. The RCA Victor single was on the charts for 15 weeks.
