BIG FROG 104'S HOT NEWZ FROM NASHVILLE

July 27, 2010

» Glue In The Works: The gears are starting to turn for Sugarland's Incredible Machine. The album hits stores Oct. 19 and the first single "Stuck Like Glue" is out now and available here. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush just wrapped filming the video with Chuck's Ryan McPartlin ("Devon," a.k.a. "Captain Awesome" on the NBC-TV sitcom), who plays Jennifer Nettles' stalking victim in the piece. "The twist on the video is it's in this world in this crazy woman's head, where she thinks she is in this type of relationship ... and is stuck with him, and stuck on him," Nettles tells Entertainment Weekly. "In her mind, they are inseparable. In his mind, she is a crazy lunatic." Bush played the key part of "bagging the object of my affections," Nettles says. "He was my henchman. He had a lot of responsibilities so that I could be crazy, which is kind of like our lives." Read the full article here.

» Play On: Friday's (7/30) Today show will be Carrie Underwood's first TV appearance as a married woman. Mrs. Mike Fisher is scheduled to perform "Undo It" during the Toyota Concert Series, and the morning show is taking fan questions on its Facebook fan page. Of the more than 200 posts, many are about the Fisher wedding and married life. Add your question for Carrie here.

» Gwyneth Singeth: The first taste of music from Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw's upcoming movie Country Strong was offered for download to the country music community Monday (7/26). The title track single, sung by Paltrow, features Vince Gill and Patty Griffin on background vocals and will be available for purchase Aug. 23 with the full soundtrack out Oct. 26. IMDb reports McGraw plays husband-manager "Ed" and Paltrow stars as singer "Kelly Canter" in the flick, which is due in theaters Dec. 22. Until then, see the first film stills here.

» Getting Downs With Their Bad Selves: Kenny Chesney, Loretta Lynn, Dwight Yoakam, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Zac Brown Band, Justin Moore, Gloriana and Stealing Angels represented country at this weekend's HullabaLOU festival in Louisville. According to the local Courier-Journal, the multi-genre festival drew 90,000 attendees to Churchill Downs. "It was really exciting to be out on the track," SA's Tayla Lynn told the HullabaLOU YouTube channel. SA's Jennifer Wayne added, "[With] the talent [at the festival], we're just in awe of everyone around us." The fest's website has several photo galleries from the weekend, viewable here.

» One Small Step: Jimmy Wayne will be the first to admit his eight-month, 1,700-mile Meet Me Halfway walk to Phoenix has taken much longer than he ever anticipated. This Sunday (8/1), it finally comes to end. "I feel like I'm getting ready to graduate college or high school again," Wayne told us Friday (7/23). "Everybody says 'I can't wait to get out of school,' but when you're out you always think there's something about it [you] really miss. There's something about being out on the road that I love. Don't be surprised if you don't see me walking around Nashville with ski goggles and walking sticks out of habit." The trek has been one of the most rewarding experiences of his life. "The walk doesn't end in Phoenix. It's something I keep preaching, but everyone should find this happiness in their business in life. There's nothing better than feeling free. Looking back on this, I could never ask for anything else." Wayne will headline a free concert at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill in Mesa Saturday (7/31), and encourages supporters to join him for the last mile of the walk in Phoenix Sunday (8/1). Details here.

» Crib Note: Congratulations to Josh Turner and wife Jennifer, who are expecting their third child early next year. "I come from big families — my momma was the oldest of three and my daddy was one of six — and I've always loved children," Josh tells People magazine. "They bring a lot of joy to the world, and they make us adults look at things in a better way. So it's a natural thing for me and Jennifer." The new family addition will join sons Hampton and Colby. Read the full story here.

» Life Note: The country music community is wishing a speedy recovery to Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin (the Louvin Brothers), who had successful surgery Thursday (7/22).
