» Fire Not Flagging: As a 10,000-acre wildfire burns the scenic wilderness near Flagstaff, AZ, KAFF MD Jenny Brawn updated Country Aircheck on the situation: "It's hard to watch because this is where we live and play. More than 750 families were ordered to evacuate, and all staff are on call for emergency alerts and break-in news. We're usually automated on weekends, but we've had people here for hourly updates the whole time, and are providing evacuation and shelter reports, road closures and other information. We've got unpredictable winds at 25-50 miles per hour, and that's caused difficulties for the aircraft. Two animal shelters have had to evacuate, but fortunately, there've been no injuries. Because our stations are on the west side of town, we're all OK here. We're all praying for the firefighters, who have been amazing; people are painting their cars and putting signs in front of their houses thanking them."

» Heart Of Darkness: An hour before last night's show taping (6/21), Jimmy Kimmel Live had a power outage. Kimmel grabbed his trusty laptop and shot the entire show – including a performance by Dierks Bentley – on the computer's webcam. Bentley and his band's impromptu unplugged performance of "Up On The Ridge" led the host to exclaim, "Man, 99% of the bands we have on our show never would have been able to pull that off musically ... that was incredible." Bentley tweeted about the experience, "One of the craziest TV nights ever ... who knew you could shoot a late-night show with a Mac?" According to JKL's Facebook page, the inadvertently "special" episode will air tonight at 12:05am ET.

» Mr. Fix It: The Larry King Live telethon Disaster In The Gulf: How You Can Help featuring Trace Adkins, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and other celebrities raised $1.8 million for Gulf Coast aid. The two-hour CNN special benefitted the United Way, The National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy. Recap here.

» Six-Toed Studio Cat: BNA will release the first Kenny Chesney studio album in three years Sept. 28. The collection is titled Hemingway's Whiskey after the Guy Clark-penned title track. "When I heard the song, I knew it was the perfect title for the record," Chesney says. "It's a song that talks about living life to its fullest, being a man about your responsibilities and not compromising ... which — as someone who's read all his books — is everything Hemingway's novels revolved around."

» Homeward Bound: Tracy Lawrence's English bulldog Tank, who went missing last Tuesday (CAT 6/16), was found a few miles from where he was last seen in Mt. Juliet, TN. According to his publicist, while details surrounding Tank's disapperance are still unclear, Lawrence and his family are just delighted that Tank's home safe.

» Long Four Summer: Emblem/WAR/BPG's Gloriana will embark on their fan-named Long Hot Summer Tour 2010 June 24 in Grand Junction, CO. The group polled fans via a contest and live chat to determine the title of the 40-date festival and fair tour. Complete schedule here.
