Scroll down for Today's Recipe: Mexican Hot Chocolate Souffle | | | Hey there, | |
Our bodies are incredible ecosystems, hosting communities of microorganisms that influence everything from our digestion to our mood. The gut, often referred to as our "second brain," plays a pivotal role in this intricate dance of health and well-being.
There are four primary ways to cultivate a thriving gut microbiome, fostering not just physical health, but emotional and mental balance as well. Incorporating probiotics through foods or supplements, embracing the richness of fermented foods, nourishing our bodies with fibrous foods, and being mindful of our choices to support rather than hinder these delicate microbial communities.
Yet, it's important to approach this with gentleness and understanding. For some, the path to a balanced gut might bring discomfort, such as bloating or gas, as we adjust to increased fiber or navigate the complexities of our dietary choices. This is where the beauty of compassion towards our bodies comes into play, recognizing the signals it sends us and responding with care.
I want to share with you a gentle yet powerful ally in this journey - a special POSTBiotic supplement that supports our gut in a way that aligns with our body's natural processes, reducing discomfort and fostering overall well-being. This POSTBiotic, known as butyrate, has been recognized for its profound benefits, from supporting weight loss to improving brain function and beyond.
In embracing this path, we're not just feeding our gut; we're nourishing our soul, acknowledging the deep connections between our physical health and our emotional well-being. I invite you to explore this further and consider how such mindful choices can transform your health and happiness.
To your best gut health!

- 9 teaspoons Erythritol
- 4 tablespoons Sugar Free Chocolate Chips
- 2 large Egg Yolks
- 1/2 fluid ounce Tap Water
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 3/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/8 tablespoon Red or Cayenne Pepper
- 3 large Egg Whites
- 1 pinch Stevia
Directions - Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease the bottom and up the sides of a 2-cup deep souffle dish with butter and sprinkle 1 1/2 teaspoons erythritol to coat all buttered areas. Set aside.
- Melt the chocolate in a small bowl in a microwave at 30 second intervals until melted through. Do not overheat and stir between intervals.
- In a medium bowl whisk 2 egg yolks with 1 tablespoon warm water, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (add more if more spice is desired). Add the melted chocolate and whisk until incorporated and smooth. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl whip the egg whites with 2 1/2 tablespoons erythritol and a large pinch of stevia to stiff peaks. Whisk a few tablespoons of the egg whites into the chocolate mixture, then quickly but gently fold in the remaining egg whites until a lighter airy mixture results and all ingredients are blended (do not over blend or you will deflate the egg whites).
- Pour into the souffle dish and bake on a sheet pan for 15-18 minutes. The souffle will rise over the top of the dish and it should appear slightly jiggly but not wet in the center when shaken.
- Serve immediately.
