QUESTION:  Merle Haggard's "My Friends Are Gonna Be Stranger" is my favorite record. My mom says that some other singer also had a hit on that song. Is that true?

ANSWER:     Merle Haggard and Roy Drusky each scored top ten hits with "(From Now On All My Friends Are Gonna Be) Strangers" in 1965

TODAY IN 1975:   Merle Haggard had his 39th charted song and his 21st number one. "Movin' On" came on the country charts May 24th, 1975 and was on the charts for 15 weeks. The single was also the theme song for the TV series starring Claude Akin.

"Q & A" is a by-product of our weekly "Country Music Classics" newsletter. NO - it does NOT replace the weekly newsletter--it is simply an addition--due to the large number of questions received each week that I do not have room for in the weekly newsletter. Subscribers receive BOTH the weekly newsletter and the daily Q & A---because I do not maintain two separate mailing lists.  If you wish to unsubscribe- send a blank email to:

IF YOU DO UNSUBSCRIBE....YOU WILL BE UNSUBSCRIBING FROM BOTH THE WEEKLY "COUNTRY MUSIC CLASSICS" AND THE DAILY "Q & A."
