STORY BEHIND THE SONG*

*

Several songs or ideas for songs have come to life while the writers were
actually writing another song!

And according to Bobby Braddock - the writing session for T. G. Sheppard's 1981
number "I Feel Like Loving You Again" was one of those tunes!

The idea for the song came from a phone call that co-writer Sonny Throckmorton
received from a former girlfriend. And after the call - Throckmorton started
thinking "I feel you coming back again." So he and Braddock started writing on
that idea and in the process - decided to introduce the concept of comparing
love to a radio station. The idea didn't work out so the pair put the "I Feel
You Coming Back Again" idea on the back burner and turned their attention to the
radio idea. And in about thirty minutes - they had written "Fadin In - Fadin'
Out," which scored a number 11 for Tommy Overstreet in 1978.

The songwriting duo then went back to the "I Feel You Coming Back Again" idea -
but Sonny began thinking that the line "I Feel You Coming" might be considered
just a bit risque - so they changed the idea to "I Feel Like Loving You Again.'

T. G. Sheppard's Warner Bros. single "I Feel Like Loving You Again" came on the
charts December 6th, 1980 and was at the top of the charts January 31st, 1981.

It was his 19th charted song and his 6th number one.*

causes which benefit the veterans of The United States Armed Forces.

Q: My mom says the radio folks were talking about a lot of Waylon Jennings
stuff was being sold. Do you know just what and where?
A: Waylon's widow Jessi Colter is co-ordinating an auction of some of his

I WAS A COUNTRY SINGER FOR THE FBI.*

By: Jack Blanchard

We once did a show in an old theater
left over from the vaudeville days.
I think it had rats.
Maybe they were down-on-their-luck show rats.

My book...
"I Was a Country Singer for the FBI"

FROM CNN..
"American blues guitarist and singer Johnny Winter died Wednesday."
We're so sorry to hear this.
We liked his music and we liked him personally.
Misty at I sat next to him at dinner all week
at the CBS convention in San Francisco.
He was very friendly to us,
as opposed to the famous singer on our other side.

THE FAMOUS SINGER ON OUR OTHER SIDE...
BV was an arrogant, conceited, snooty, rude, obnoxious jerk,
and a cat strangler.
Nobody liked him except maybe his agent and his mother,
and I'm not sure about them.
I think I went too far with "cat strangler".
Sorry.

Motel 6 started as $6 per night. 8 Days Inn was $8 a night.
Then came a law that they couldn't advertise prices on signs,
so they did clever name changes.
I miss those days...
$8 a night and 50 cents off for everything you shoot
that flies through the room.

Misty says, "You're growing old with grace.
And Grace is getting sick of it."

I said, "I think that thunderstorm is gonna miss us."
Misty said, "That's what it wants you to think."

One guy in Nashville who we thought was a friend
turned against us for some imaginary reason.
Every night when I say my prayers, I close with this:
"And by the way...screw Bob ..........".

The old candlestick telephones had a separate receiver.
They could place the receiver against the microphone,
and feedback would deafen the person on the other end.
You can't do that with the new phones,
and they call that progress.

Dead people vote in every election.
I'll try to remember this if I'm ever in that condition.

I had a dislocated shoulder,
but later I located it.

I never know what Misty will say...
I said, Castle's real name is Nathan Fillion."
She said, "How thilly."

I don't like weekends.
It's like a coma where you watch TV.

VIEW FROM THE FRONT PORCH

By: Stan Hitchcock*

Late Night At The Old Farm House-Stan Hitchcock *

At 3:45 this morning, the first of the long line of storms hit...Grade A
Thunderboomers, with lots of lightning and heavy rain. After about an hour of
the boomers, I finally got up and came out to the porch. Nature can sure put on
the fireworks, in these Spring storms. But here is the surprising part, at least
to me, in the middle of these storms...lightning flashing, thunder booming,
raining in a real downpour...the birds have been singing in the rain, wide open,
just a'getting it. I don't know how, in a storm like this a bird could even hold
on to a limb, let alone sing, but there it is. They have been doing this since
3:45 when the first boomer hit. I know one thing, if I was sitting in a duck
blind, or deer stand or on the water trying to fish and a storm like this came
up...I dang sure wouldn't be singing. This line of storms goes all the way down
into Mississippi, so we are going to have them most of the day, looks like. Sure
glad I got the grass mowed yesterday cause the rest of the week is gonna be
pretty wet. So, if your out walking in the rain, and you want some
shelter...come on by and sit on the porch and we'll have some coffee and tell a
few stories, and listen to the birds singing in the rain. *
