Q:     My mom lived in Dallas, Texas back in the 50's and talks about a young girl singer named Sunshine Ruby who was quite popular. Do you have any information on her?

A:      Sunshine Ruby was actually Ruby Jewell Bateman, born in Myrtle Springs, Texas. As a teenager, she was a member of Big D Jamboree in Dallas, Texas and signed to record for RCA Victor Records. Her only charted song was "Too Young To Tango," which peaked at # 4 in 1953 and featured Sonny James on fiddle.
