» Checking It Twice: Celebrity blogs including Life & Style, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Vancouver Sun and the Toronto Sun are rampant with rumors that Carrie Underwood and fiancé Mike Fisher will tie the knot this Saturday (7/10). And while the country music community is generally much too respectful of an artist's privacy to spill the beans, we do know that wedding fever is reaching epidemic proportions. Just ask Miranda Lambert and Kellie Pickler, whose impending nuptials – to Blake Shelton and songwriter Kyle Jacobs, respectively – have both stars' attention. "Cakes, dresses, décor, shoes, location, music, invitations, flowers, food, tuxedos, honeymoon, etc. —  lots to do," Pickler tweeted recently. One Big Day task is proving more difficult than most. "My fiancé and I have come to the conclusion that making 'the list' — people to invite to the wedding — is the hardest part so far," Pickler posted. To which Lambert replied, "Amen."

» I Go Back: Kenny Chesney kicked off his Independence Day weekend by reliving some old set lists during his two sold-out concerts at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. "You get into that place where you know there are songs people want to hear you just don't get to play," Chesney says. "What better place to do something like that than the Joint? After all, it's really a loose show without having to hit all the light and video cues." Chesney ripped through former concert staples "How Forever Feels," "Don't Happen Twice" and a rarely heard "Please Come To Boston" by Dave Loggins Friday (7/2). Audience requests "The Coast Of Somewhere Beautiful" and "Key Lime Pie" were among Saturday's (7/3) set.

» These Boots Are Made For ... Taping? And when we say "taping," we don't mean the recording studio variety. "It's hockey tape," Dierks Bentley tells CNN of his black cowboy boots, which at this point can probably claim more adhesive than leather. "Once I put my jeans on, you can't see anything except the tape. I've put a lot of miles on these boots. I feel like they deserve to go everywhere I've been." Bentley's fashion trends are just a few of the topics covered in the network's article about his current bluegrass album Up On The Ridge. Read the rest of the feature here.

» Raising Arizona: After six months on his Meet Me Halfway walk, Jimmy Wayne (finally) made it to Arizona last Thursday (7/1). "A moment of pride came over me," Wayne told us Friday (7/2). "I actually walked from Nashville to Arizona. It's so hard to believe. Half a year has gone by and I look back over it — the memories and friends I've made, the experiences — I'm still in awe." Wayne is roughly 200 miles away from his destination – Phoenix. Follow him the rest of the way and learn more here.

» Check Booked: The Third Annual Clay Walker Charity Classic gala raised more than $100,000 to fund education for MS patients, research and Walker's Band Against MS (BAMS) organization. During last Wednesday's (6/30) Pebble Beach Resorts event, Walker and last year's beneficiary Dr. Jerry Wolinsky also presented an oversized $50,000 check to Dr. Lauren Krupp to support her research on childhood multiple sclerosis at Stony Brook University Medical Center, NY. Krupp is best known for pioneering the first National Pediatric MS Center in the US. Details here.

» Life Notes: The country music community is extending condolences to Craig Morgan and family following Saturday's passing (7/3) of his mother, Betty Sue Crockett, who lost her battle with cancer. Morgan recorded his 2007 single "Tough" in honor of his mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Pancreatic Cancer or to Billy's Place c/o Taylor Funeral Home, 214 N. Main St. Dickson, TN  37055. Read more here.

Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin is due for surgery following a diagnosis of stage II pancreatic cancer. "Charlie's family and friends are encouraged that he will be in good hands, but they definitely covet your prayers," a post on his website reads. More information here.
