QUESTION:  The radio guys mentioned a new Hank Williams Jr. concert tour. Do you have any information?

 

 

ANSWER:    Hank's upcoming  "Taking Back the Country" tour, kicks off March 3rd at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre  in St. Augustine, Fla. and ends August 4th at The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in  Davenport, Iowa. The tour will include Josh Thompson, Jamey Johnson, Chris Young, George Thorogood and .38 Special as  rotating opening acts.

This day in 1971 - Buck Owens recorded "Ruby"  at the Buck Owens Studios, in Bakersfield, California. The song was written by mountain singer Cousin Emmy, and the session personnel included Buck Owens-vocal; Don Rich-rhythm guitar & harmony vocal: Ron Jackson-banjo; Jim Shaw-piano; Doyle Curtsinger-bass & harmony vocal; Jerry Wiggins-drums. The song was released as a single by Capitol on April 12, 1971, and peaked inside Billboard's top 5. It was Bucko's 46th charted song and was on the charts for 17 weeks.
