BIG FROG 104'S HOT NEWZ FROM NASHVILLE

August 24, 2010

» The Best A Man Can Get: More than 51,000 New Englanders gave Brad Paisley a wicked sold-out welcome during his first-ever stadium show in Foxboro, MA. "To be up there standing and singing a song like 'Alcohol,' that was written with the kind of bombastic hugeness that I kind of pictured … in a stadium full of people holding beer ... and to be hearing these songs reverberate off the concrete is pretty wild," Paisley said after the Gillette Stadium concert. According to the Boston Herald, Paisley's 110-minute set included high-tech videos across two mega screens. Some New England Patriot players stormed the stage during the encore. And our insider spotted Good Morning America's Robin Roberts backstage. "Apparently, she's working on another primetime special featuring Brad," we're told. The Paisleys' Boston adventures didn't stop there. Wife Kimberly took in the local historic sites prior to the concert, which also featured Sara Evans, Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker and Easton Corbin. » Undercover 'Wuver' Lover: The hit single "Lover, Lover" put Jerrod Niemann on the map and earned him his first Nashville No. 1 party as an artist Monday (8/23). Prior to the event, Niemann discussed how re-recording the Sonia Dada song gets him recognized in unlikely places. "I was asleep on a plane the other day and felt a flash in my face," Niemann told press before the event. "[I] woke up and thought, 'Man am I losing my mind? Did someone not just take a picture right in my face?' So I sat there and I saw this little girl peek over the chair in front of me and then just sat back down. Then I see her mom's camera come over the chair and go click. I was like, 'Your flash is on.' I think it just shows you how great of a song it is ... from the Sonia Dada hate mail to people actually calling me 'Lover, Lover.' Little kids call me [and ask], 'Wuver, Wuver, do you live here?'" Niemann previously experienced No. 1 success co-writing Garth Brooks' "Good Ride Cowboy."

» It's My Party & I'll Rap If I Want To: Jason Aldean will bring the party to your ears when his fourth studio album hits stores Nov. 2. "The album is named My Kinda Party because it's totally representative of what I like and what my fans have come to expect on my records and at the 'party' we throw at our shows," Aldean says. "I think the key is knowing who you are as an artist and taking it to an extreme without ripping anybody else off. It's all about knowing what it is that sets you apart." Pop and rap influences are also featured on the 15-track album, which boasts the groovin' "Dirt Road Anthem," which suggests that Aldean listened to a little Snoop Dogg in his past, and a Kelly Clarkson duet on "Don't You Wanna Stay." Look for Aldean to premiere the album cover art on his Facebook page Tuesday (8/24). See the full track listing and learn more here.

» Do You Be Read Me Now? As if walking 1,700 miles on his Meet Me Halfway mission wasn't enough for Jimmy Wayne, he's continuing to raise awareness for homeless teens by writing a book inspired by his childhood in North Carolina's foster care system. Paper Angels, written with co-author Travis Thrasher (Solitary, Broken, Ghostwriter), is due next fall. "[This] is the book that Jimmy Wayne felt he had to write," publisher Jonathan Merkh says. "He brings his own unique personal perspective to bare in writing an inspiring book that brings compelling awareness to the often forgotten children in our society." Wayne has also teamed with Bryan Foods to deliver 2,500 pounds of food to those affected by the Gulf oil spill. The food was recently delivered to the Community Center of St. Bernard in Arabi, LA for its Mustard Seed Distribution Program.

» In Case You Missed It: It's a country music takeover all this week on NBC-TV's Today show. The Monday-through-Friday schedule (8/23-27) features, in order, Blake Shelton, Martina McBride, John Rich, Trisha Yearwood and Josh Turner. Each will co-host with anchor Hoda Kotb. As the kickoff co-host Monday, Shelton discussed his love of salt, perused Kotb's vacation pictures and played "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking" over a Bacardi and Coke. Watch here.

» The Noise Of Fall: Icons of Country and Hip Hop are coming together for a film about – what else? – Gospel music. No, we're not sure of the connection either, but Dolly Parton and co-star Queen Latifah will probably have a pretty good time on the set of Joyful Noise. "I'm really happy to be doing a movie with Queen Latifah," Parton says of the project, which follows the unlikely partnership of two strong-minded women who are forced to work together to save a small town Gospel choir. "I really like her and have often thought we would be fun together. Even though we play rivals in the movie, I'm sure we'll have our fun behind the scenes." Parton is writing a few songs for the movie as well. Read more here.
